  1. So every part of London has to be high density? London is a big city and there are some parts where the PTAL rating do not support higher densities. I do not think Andrew Boff is suggesting bungalows in my ward, Canary Wharf (which is the opposite extreme of density) but I have been in parts of the outer edges of London where it would make sense to have bungalows on some sites which is what Andrew is suggesting. Munich & other German towns show you can have high density by mixing different tenures together in the same neighbourhood.

  2. If they are for the older generation there are far better ways of providing which encourage social interaction and shared resources. So even in lower density areas the bungalow is an anachronism.

  3. The report suggests that bungalows could be placed on sites identified in the “Gap in the market” report by GLA Conservatives. However most of the sites identified in that report are disused garages which wouldn’t provide the attractive 70m2 bungalow with garden that the report suggests would attract older people away from larger properties.
