The four authorities of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils are working together to prepare a new planning strategy for the West of England. This was a commitment made by B&NES when it adopted its Core Strategies.
The West of England Joint Strategic Planning Strategy will identify the overall quantum of housing and jobs within the West of England, their distribution across the sub-region, the overall spatial strategy and the strategic infrastructure necessary to deliver the spatial strategy for the West of England. At the same time, the JSPS must to take into account the special character and valued assets of our environment. The initial stage is consideration of options.
